Taylor Fritz managed to secure a spot in the Dallas Open semifinals after defeating Sebastian Korda 6-7(2), 6-4, 7-6(5). During the match, Fritz experienced a sharp pain in his elbow after hitting an awkward backhand flick at 4-5, 30/15 in the first set. Despite the injury, he received treatment from the physio and continued playing.

In an on-court interview, Fritz described the moment of injury, stating that he felt a sudden sharp pain in his elbow while attempting a flick backhand. Despite the discomfort, he persevered through the match with the help of physiotherapy sessions. Fritz showcased resilience by overcoming the injury setback to secure victory and advance to the next round.

Facing a tough challenge from Korda, Fritz displayed determination and skill, ultimately prevailing in the final-set tie-break. With an impressive performance that included 22 aces and saving all four break points, Fritz emerged victorious. He now looks ahead to a showdown with Marin Cilic in the semifinals, with Cilic defeating Jack Pinnington Jones in a swift 6-1, 6-4 victory.
