IT giant TCS disclosed that a technical problem led to a two-hour delay in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG exam during the morning session on Saturday. TCS CEO and MD, K. Krithivasan, assured that the issue was swiftly identified and resolved by their technical teams, ensuring the exam’s integrity remained intact.
Krithivasan expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and assured ongoing monitoring of all systems to collaborate closely with NTA for seamless conduct of computer-based tests. The National Testing Agency (NTA) rescheduled the CUET-UG timings for 2026 due to a technical glitch that affected some exam centers on May 30.
In a statement, the NTA attributed the delay to a technical glitch on the part of their service provider, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). However, the issue has been rectified, and the exam is proceeding with additional compensatory time to ensure fairness for all candidates. Morning-session examinees are granted the full paper duration and can only exit after completion to avoid any disadvantage.
CUET aims to offer a level playing field and equal opportunities to candidates nationwide, particularly those from rural and remote regions, fostering stronger ties with universities. Registration for CUET-UG 2026 commenced in early April, following a record 13.54 lakh student registrations for CEUT-UG 2025 in the previous year.
