The Bharatiya Janata Party’s resounding win in the Assam Assembly elections has sparked joy among female workers in tea gardens, particularly in Dibrugarh. Women from the Manohari tea estate expressed their happiness and faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government. Anju Mura, a worker, felt honored by Prime Minister Modi’s visit to their tea garden and the subsequent trip to Ayodhya he arranged for them.

The women laborers from the Manohari tea estate welcomed the BJP’s victory in the state Assembly polls, expressing optimism that the new government will address their needs and enhance their quality of life. Monika Mura, echoing the sentiment, highlighted the demands of the tea garden community, including the need for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status, land ownership rights, and higher wages. They also acknowledged the benefits received from government schemes and improvements in infrastructure and healthcare.

The women from the tea garden communities in Dibrugarh view the BJP’s win as crucial for their future, believing that Prime Minister Modi’s leadership has directly impacted tea workers positively. These regions have historically supported the BJP, and the recent victory has further solidified the party’s influence. The women workers expressed their desire for the development momentum to continue under the new government, hoping their aspirations will be met.
