Bihar’s Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, expressed worry about the state’s financial situation under the NDA government. He criticized the government for resorting to the Contingency Fund to pay social security pensions, highlighting the severity of the financial crisis.
Tejashwi Yadav questioned the necessity of using the Contingency Fund for pension disbursements, emphasizing the critical state of Bihar’s finances. He also pointed out delays in salary payments, pensions, and payments to contractors, attributing them to the state’s empty treasury.
The Opposition leader accused the Bihar government of failing to kickstart approved development projects and welfare schemes, leading to power cuts, scholarship disbursement delays, and issues with the Student Credit Card Scheme. Additionally, he mentioned the discontinuation of the Bihar State Crop Assistance Scheme due to fund shortages.
Tejashwi Yadav called on Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary to address the financial crisis facing Bihar instead of diverting attention to other matters. His remarks have sparked a political debate on the state’s fiscal health, with opposition parties targeting the NDA government over governance and financial management.
