Telangana’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted searches at 12 locations in Hyderabad linked to Sunkari Narahari, Deputy Director of Lands and Surveys, over allegations of amassing assets beyond his known income sources. The raids, led by ACB DSP Gangasani Sridhar, targeted Narahari’s residence, office, and properties of his relatives and associates.
Officials seized approximately Rs one crore in cash, documents related to multiple properties, and significant bank deposits during the searches. The ACB utilized currency counting and weighing machines to assess cash, gold jewelry, and silver items. Investigations are ongoing into Narahari’s assets, bank accounts, and investments.
Following corruption allegations, the ACB is expected to release a detailed statement on the search outcomes later. This action follows the recent arrest of Roads and Buildings Engineer-in-Chief Mohan Naik in a similar disproportionate assets case. Raids on Naik’s properties revealed cash, gold jewelry, and documents of properties with an estimated market value of nearly Rs 200 crore.
