The Telangana Assembly had a unique moment as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy exchanged greetings with former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Before the winter session commenced, Revanth Reddy personally greeted KCR and inquired about his well-being. This friendly gesture occurred amidst recent disagreements between the two leaders regarding irrigation projects and water sharing.
KCR made a rare appearance in the Assembly, arriving before other members and taking his seat. As Chief Minister Revanth Reddy entered the hall, he approached KCR to shake hands. Following suit, several ministers, MLAs, and even newly elected MLA Naveen Yadav of the Congress met and greeted KCR.
The display of camaraderie contrasted sharply with recent verbal clashes between the Chief Minister and the Opposition Leader. Accusations have been made by the BRS, the main opposition party, against Revanth Reddy for using disrespectful language towards KCR. In response to KCR’s comments on launching a movement over an irrigation project, Revanth Reddy issued strong warnings, leading to a heated exchange of words.
KCR’s son and BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao cautioned against mistaking restraint for weakness in response to personal attacks on his father. He emphasized the need for respect despite the provocations, highlighting the importance of maintaining decorum in political discourse.
