Telangana has secured investment commitments totaling Rs 22,324 crore in the tourism sector for the year 2025. The state’s comprehensive year-end review highlighted a significant influx of investments and major infrastructure developments that have elevated Telangana’s status as a global tourism hub. This surge in capital, driven by the forward-looking “Telangana Tourism Policy 2025-2030,” is expected to create around 90,000 new job opportunities.
The Tourism Conclave 2025 played a pivotal role in this growth, attracting investments worth Rs 15,279 crore, while the Telangana Rising Global Summit brought an additional Rs 7,045 crore into the sector. Notably, prominent international investors have committed to large-scale projects in conventions, culture, and wellness. The year was marked by notable cultural achievements and increased global visibility.
Telangana hosted the Miss World 2025 pageant in Hyderabad, showcasing the state’s modern infrastructure and its reputation for being a “Safe and Friendly” destination on a global platform. The state also set two Guinness World Records during the Bathukamma festival for the tallest floral arrangement (19.44 meters) and the largest folk dance performance involving 1,354 women. Safety and digital innovation were key focuses for the state, with the establishment of a specialized “Tourist Police” force and the introduction of digital initiatives for seamless tourist experiences.
Infrastructure development in Telangana reached new heights with the completion of 78 out of 123 state projects and ongoing progress on projects worth Rs 275 crore under central schemes like Swadesh Darshan 2.0 and PRASHAD. The state also enhanced water tourism by introducing the “Muchukunda,” a 120-seater double-deck boat at Hussain Sagar. Looking ahead to 2026, the state’s roadmap emphasizes high-tech engagement and niche tourism, including plans for a Heli-Tourism circuit and premium wedding destinations to tap into the global wedding market.
To start the new year, Telangana will host a series of international events in January, such as the International Kite and Sweet Festival, a Hot Air Balloon Festival, and a high-tech Drone Show at Gachibowli Stadium.
