Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka participated in the municipal elections by casting their votes. The Chief Minister flew to Kodangal in Vikarabad district via helicopter from Hyderabad to vote at a polling center. Revanth Reddy, representing Kodangal Assembly constituency, exercised his voting right for the Kodangal municipality.
Upon returning to Hyderabad, the Chief Minister is set to depart for New Delhi for a meeting with top Congress leaders. The municipal elections in 116 municipalities and seven corporations across Telangana are being conducted under tight security measures. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka cast his vote in the Madhira municipality in Khammam district.
Various ministers also participated by voting in their respective districts. Labour Minister G. Vivek cast his vote in Mancherial, while the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president voted in Nizamabad. BJP MP from Nizamabad, D. Arvind, also participated by voting for the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation.
Polling, which commenced at 7 a.m. across 8,191 polling stations in all municipalities and corporations, is scheduled to conclude at 5 p.m. A total of 52,17,413 eligible voters will be casting their votes in 2,981 wards within the 123 urban local bodies.
