Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of engaging in blackmail through phone-tapping and corrupt practices during its rule. He criticized BRS leaders for allegedly amassing wealth unethically, claiming that Rs 1500 crore was deposited in the party’s account through dubious means.
Speaking at a public meeting in Mulugu district for the Congress party’s municipal elections campaign, the Chief Minister also targeted former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao for exploiting power and accumulating ill-gotten riches during the party’s tenure. He referenced BJP MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy’s statement about businessmen being coerced to transfer properties after their phones were tapped.
Revanth Reddy further criticized the Union government for not initiating a CBI probe into the Kaleshwaram and formula e-race scams. He questioned Union Minister G Kishan Reddy’s inaction, accusing him of shielding BRS leaders. The Chief Minister warned against voting for BRS and BJP, alleging collusion between the two parties to undermine Congress.
