Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy criticized Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, alleging that he is obstructing the approval for the expansion of Hyderabad Metro Rail. Reddy claimed that Kishan Reddy, associated with the BJP, is supporting Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Amid the verbal clash, the Chief Minister slammed the BJP leader during a public event in Uppal, highlighting development projects worth Rs 1,511 crore.
The Chief Minister urged the Centre to expedite approvals for the Hyderabad expansion, the Regional Ring Road, and Musi River rejuvenation projects, as well as to procure the remaining paddy and maize from farmers. Revanth Reddy accused Kishan Reddy of dual allegiance, alleging that he supports BRS interests while being with the BJP. He also blamed the Central minister for Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis avoiding a meeting with him.
Emphasizing the significance of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) for global competitiveness, the Chief Minister revealed his efforts in meeting Prime Minister Modi regarding RRR. Revanth Reddy questioned Kishan Reddy’s accountability in securing approvals for the Metro and funding the Musi project, considering the support received from Hyderabad voters. He defended the Musi Riverfront development projects, advocating for its transformation into a tourist destination and source of employment opportunities.
