Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has assured Telangana State Road Transport Corporation employees of the government’s commitment to addressing their demands and safeguarding their rights. He conveyed this during a meeting with union representatives, highlighting the government’s efforts to bolster the corporation financially and ensure its smooth operation. Responding positively to union requests, he announced the release of wages for the strike period and the withdrawal of cases against workers.
The Chief Minister directed Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and officials to promptly address wage payments for the strike duration and resolve pending cases. Union leaders expressed gratitude for the Chief Minister’s proactive approach in resolving their issues and commended their action plan for organizational development and service enhancement. Revanth Reddy acknowledged the workers’ support for the Congress and emphasized the government’s commitment to resolving financial burdens and debts.
Revanth Reddy outlined plans to increase bus numbers, recruit staff, and introduce electric buses to boost revenue and connectivity. He also mentioned the construction of an international-standard bus terminal in Shamshabad and allocation of land for another terminal. The Chief Minister urged unions to collaborate with the government on financial decisions, including the Pay Revision Commission, for a sustainable resolution. He cautioned workers against being swayed by opposition politics, emphasizing collective efforts for the corporation’s revival.
Assuring job security, Revanth Reddy called for united efforts towards organizational sustainability. He highlighted the ‘Mahalakshmi Scheme,’ providing substantial financial aid to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. The Chief Minister emphasized cooperation from workers to alleviate debt burdens and ensure the corporation’s strength and longevity.
