Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy criticized Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders for defending former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) amid a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into alleged phone-tapping. Reddy questioned the BRS leaders’ stance following KCR’s summons by the SIT after a lengthy examination.
At the Ravi Narayana Reddy National Award event in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister rebuked those proclaiming KCR as the “father of Telangana,” emphasizing the need for accountability. Reddy highlighted the importance of facing investigations for those who deviate from the right path in a democracy.
Referencing historical figures like Gandhiji and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Reddy underscored the necessity of accountability and investigation for those in positions of power. He also mentioned instances from the past, including the arrest of Professor Kodandaram during the BRS regime, to emphasize the importance of upholding democratic principles.
