Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy confirmed the arrest of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay’s son, Bandi Bhageerath, in a POCSO case. Reddy expressed trust in the police’s actions during a press conference. While Sanjay claimed he handed over his son to the police, Cyberabad police stated they arrested Bhageerath directly.
Reddy criticized the behavior of BRS leaders, accusing them of celebrating the POCSO case as a victory. He specifically called out BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) and others for politicizing the issue. Reddy alleged that KTR was using the situation to settle a personal dispute with Sanjay.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the police were following due process in handling the POCSO case. He highlighted the completion of 80% of the paddy procurement process in the state and assured that the remaining process would be finalized. Reddy also criticized the BRS for politicizing farmer issues, urging constructive engagement over political opportunism.
Reddy welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision on the caste census, applauding Telangana’s initiative in this regard. He urged the central government to include a caste census in the general census to ensure proper representation of weaker sections.
