The Telangana government is gearing up to host the Godavari Pushkaralu in a manner reminiscent of the Kumbh Mela, showcasing the cultural essence of Telangana. At a recent meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on “Godavari Pushkaralu–2027” at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat, officials were instructed to develop permanent infrastructure that highlights the state’s unique identity and rich heritage.
Chaired by IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu, the meeting was attended by various ministers and senior officials to discuss the event’s schedule, preparedness, and future plans. The Adi Pushkaralu is scheduled from June 26 to July 7, 2027, followed by the Antya Pushkaralu from July 13 to July 24, 2028, as per Vedic scholars.
The government aims to host around eight crore devotees at 96 locations along the Godavari River, connecting significant temples. Learning from past experiences, the authorities are developing state and district-level plans to enhance infrastructure like ghats and roads, with a focus on nine key locations in the initial phase. Special attention will be given to traffic management, medical facilities, and parking arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful event.
