The Telangana government, led by state minister Ponnam Prabhakar, is dedicated to building 100,000 houses under the Indiramma scheme in Greater Hyderabad. The aim is to fulfill the dream of home ownership for every impoverished family, ensuring proximity to their sources of livelihood.
At an event, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, overseeing Transport and Backward Classes in Hyderabad, distributed ownership documents to beneficiaries of the housing initiative. The government’s focus is on providing decent permanent housing to deserving homeless families, strategically placing these residences in areas where the occupants work.
Acknowledging the long wait endured by beneficiaries, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed regret for the delays and emphasized the government’s commitment to constructing one lakh Indiramma houses in Greater Hyderabad. Additionally, the government is streamlining processes such as issuing ration cards promptly and implementing welfare programs effectively.
Efforts to empower women economically and provide job opportunities for unemployed youth are also underway in Hyderabad. The government is actively promoting women’s self-help groups, offering interest-free loans, facilitating self-employment, and ensuring convenient access to education and employment through initiatives like free bus travel for women.
