Telangana’s Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, stated that the state will assist Hajj pilgrims facing higher expenses this year due to raised airfares. The surge in fuel prices, linked to the crisis in West Asia, has led to increased air travel costs for Hajj 2026 participants, resulting in an additional charge of Rs 10,000. To alleviate this burden, the state government will bear the extra financial load.
Revanth Reddy emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting Hajj pilgrims, ensuring they are not unduly affected by the escalated airfares. He also underscored the government’s inclusive approach, highlighting the respect for all religions and the unity between Hindus and Muslims as brothers. Additionally, the Chief Minister cautioned against voter deletion attempts under the guise of SIR, urging people to stand united against such tactics in Telangana.
Remembering the tragic bus accident in Saudi Arabia that claimed the lives of 44 Umrah pilgrims last year, Revanth Reddy announced that the state government is providing Rs 5 lakh compensation to the families of each deceased individual. He further outlined the government’s initiatives for minority welfare, including employment opportunities, scholarships for education abroad, and the conversion of auto-rickshaws to electric vehicles within Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road, aiming to support livelihoods and reduce air pollution.
Highlighting the importance of skill development for youth, the Chief Minister mentioned the government’s efforts to upgrade Industrial Training Institutes into Advanced Training Centres, equipping the youth with skills to compete in the global job market. Revanth Reddy reiterated his commitment to positioning Telangana as a leading state in development, aspiring to set a benchmark for the nation.
