Telangana High Court has instructed the police to provide information regarding a case filed against trainee IPS officer M. Uday Krishna Reddy for allegedly sexually harassing a female batchmate at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. The court has postponed the hearing on the plea filed by Reddy to dismiss the First Information Report (FIR) to Monday, July 27. His request to halt any police action until the next hearing was turned down by the court.

A 30-year-old female trainee officer accused Reddy of harassing her from June 23 to July 10 during their training period at the academy. She claimed that he sent her abusive messages, intimidated her, recorded her private video, and shared it with her husband. Additionally, she alleged that he took her phone to his room, coerced her to reveal her password, and blackmailed her into disclosing personal messages.

The complaint led Attapur police to register a case against Reddy under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with sections of the IT Act related to privacy violation and transmission of explicit material. Reddy reportedly attempted suicide at a relative’s residence in Hyderabad on July 21 and was subsequently hospitalized.

In a suicide note, Reddy stated that he and the woman trainee officer had been in a relationship for a year and accused four individuals, including the woman and her husband, for his decision to end his life. He claimed that their relationship began in June 2025 and persisted even after her marriage, asserting that it was consensual. Reddy denied using force or coercion, mentioning that he possessed evidence such as photos and videos to support the consensual nature of their relationship.
