Telangana Industries and Information Technology Minister D. Sridhar Babu emphasized the state government’s dedication to enhancing public healthcare services and raising awareness about preventive healthcare. Speaking at the Global Oral Cancer Awareness Marathon in Hyderabad, he highlighted the health risks associated with substances like gutka and pan masala, urging the public to avoid them.
Sridhar Babu underscored the government’s efforts to combat the consumption and illegal sale of narcotic substances, urging the youth to steer clear of harmful addictions. He encouraged individuals to contribute to a healthier society by adopting positive habits such as yoga and regular exercise to prevent diseases like cancer.
The Minister stressed the importance of awareness campaigns against unhealthy habits like gutka consumption and tobacco use. He noted the role of events like the Oral Cancer Awareness Marathon in promoting prevention, early detection, and healthy living practices to combat serious diseases.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh and Chairman of the Global Oral Cancer Trust, Dr. K. Dileep Kumar, also participated in the marathon, aiming to raise awareness about oral cancer and the significance of early detection through regular health check-ups.
