Cyberabad Police in Telangana have issued a notice to Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s son, Bandi Bhagirath, in connection with a POCSO case filed against him four days ago. Bhagirath has been summoned to appear before the police at Pet Basheerabad Police Station on Wednesday at 2 p.m. The police delivered the notice to Sanjay’s residence in Karimnagar as Bhagirath was not present, warning of legal action if he fails to comply.
The case against Bandi Bhagirath was registered under the POCSO Act for alleged sexual assault on a 17-year-old girl. In response, Bhagirath filed a complaint accusing the girl and her parents of extortion and criminal intimidation. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed the DGP to launch a thorough investigation into the matter, with special teams assigned for the probe.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ritiraj has been tasked to oversee the investigation personally. The police are actively seeking the accused, analyzing his Call Detail Record for leads. Meanwhile, Bhagirath has sought interim bail from the Telangana High Court, with the petition scheduled for hearing on May 14. Bandi Sanjay has refuted the allegations against his son, attributing them to political motives and defending his son’s innocence.
