The State Election Commission has established 8,203 polling centers and provided 16,031 ballot boxes for the upcoming elections. Additionally, 137 strong rooms and 136 counting centers have been arranged by the election body. Any re-polling required will be conducted on February 12, with the counting of votes scheduled for February 13. The municipal elections are witnessing a three-way competition among the ruling Congress, opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, leading the Congress campaign, accused BRS and BJP of colluding to defeat the Congress party. The campaign period was marked by intense attacks from all three major contestants. The ruling Congress party is seeking a mandate to continue its welfare schemes implemented over the last two years.
