The Telangana government plans to pass a law deducting 10% of government employees’ salaries if they fail to care for their parents, redirecting the amount to their parents’ bank accounts. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy emphasized the importance of addressing complaints from elderly parents against their children seriously, ensuring the direct transfer of funds. Additionally, the government has allocated Rs 50 crore for a new scheme, including the distribution of assistive devices to persons with disabilities.
The government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership is also establishing daycare centers named ‘Pranaam’ for senior citizens, aiming to enhance their well-being. Furthermore, a new healthcare policy is set to be introduced in the upcoming budget to improve healthcare services across the state. In a move towards inclusivity, transgender individuals will be nominated as Co-Option members in all Municipal Corporations in the forthcoming elections, with one post allocated per corporation to address their concerns effectively.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to the welfare of persons with disabilities, the Chief Minister highlighted various initiatives aimed at ensuring their dignity and empowerment within society. Notably, the government has introduced special quotas in education and employment for persons with disabilities, along with financial assistance for newly married individuals in this community. The government’s focus remains on providing equal opportunities across various sectors to prevent any form of exclusion, encouraging active participation and utilization of available resources.
