Telangana’s Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy revealed plans to establish a Commission, led by a retired High Court or Supreme Court judge, to oversee the reorganization of districts. This Commission, comprising experts and senior officials, will assess demands regarding mandals, revenue divisions, and districts. It will conduct field visits, akin to constituency delimitation, gather public feedback, present its findings to the Assembly, and issue reorganization guidelines.
During an event at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister criticized the previous administration for what he deemed as arbitrary divisions of districts and mandals. As a gesture for government employees during Sankranti, he announced the release of Dearness Allowance (DA), which will incur an additional monthly burden of Rs 225 crore on the State exchequer.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to employee welfare, Reddy pledged a positive stance on retirement benefits, health security, and the construction of association offices. He also mentioned the forthcoming decision to offer a Rs 1 crore accident insurance cover for each government employee. The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s efforts to fulfill its financial obligations, despite facing challenges, emphasizing the clearance of pending dues and loans inherited from the previous regime.
