The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is set to operate 6,431 special bus services during the upcoming Sankranti festival season. These special buses will run on specific dates including January 9, 10, 12, 13, 18, and 19. The corporation aims to ensure safe transportation for passengers traveling to their hometowns for the festive season.

The TGSRTC will deploy these special buses from various busy areas in Hyderabad like MGBS, JBS, Uppal Cross Roads, and others. To enhance passenger convenience, the corporation will provide amenities such as pandals, shamianas, chairs, public address systems, drinking water facilities, and mobile toilets. During festivals, the RTC management ensures smooth transportation for people to reach their destinations without any hassles.

In compliance with a government order from 2003, the TGSRTC has the authority to adjust ticket prices by up to 1.5 times during special occasions to cover fuel costs and maintenance expenses. This practice has been consistently followed by the corporation for every major festival since its inception. Additionally, as part of the Mahalaxmi scheme, free bus travel for women will be available on select bus services during Sankranti.
