The Telangana Rising 2047 vision, introduced by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, aims to reshape Telangana’s image and establish it as a significant contributor to India’s progress by 2047. This vision document, launched on the government’s two-year anniversary, outlines a detailed plan for inclusive and sustainable development. Telangana’s goal under this vision is to become a 3 trillion dollar economy.
The vision document divides Telangana into three economic zones: the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) centered around Hyderabad, the Peri-Urban Region Economy (PURE) focusing on manufacturing, and the Rural Agriculture Regional Economy (RARE) emphasizing agriculture and green enterprises. Key initiatives include the Gandhi Sarovar project, new highways, Metro Rail expansion, proposed airports, and industrial corridors linking major cities.
Urban governance reforms include expanding the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), restructuring it into wards, circles, and zones for better civic management. Efforts to improve law enforcement involve establishing new police commissionerates and enhancing public safety measures. Various steps have been taken to reduce pollution, such as promoting electric vehicles and implementing policies to relocate polluting industries.
The Bharat Future City project, envisioned as India’s first Net Zero Smart City, aims for sustainable urban development with a focus on healthcare, education, and sports facilities. Plans for Musi Riverfront development and initiatives like HYDRAA for disaster response and asset protection underscore the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and safety measures. Upgrading roads and building infrastructure under different models also form part of the comprehensive development strategy.
