Tension arose at Aramghar crossroads in Hyderabad as a group of Gorakshaks intercepted a container suspected of transporting cows. The confrontation occurred at pillar number 311 on the PVNR Expressway within Rajendranagar Police Station’s jurisdiction. Gorakshaks halted the container, leading to a dispute with the driver and subsequent gathering of a large crowd, causing commotion with raised slogans.
The incident resulted in a significant traffic congestion at the bustling intersection and along the route from Mehdipatnam to Aramghar, with traffic also coming to a standstill on the PVNR Expressway. Police swiftly arrived at the scene, dispersed the crowd, and restored traffic flow. Allegations were made by the Gorakshaks that the cows were being transported unlawfully for slaughter. Consequently, a case was filed by the police based on their complaint, initiating an investigation.
Separately, Hyderabad police have taken action against Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) City President Nithin Nandhkar for reportedly using offensive language and organizing a public gathering without proper authorization. Nandhkar was charged at Afzalgunj Police Station regarding an incident during the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti celebrations on February 19, where he was addressing a gathering causing a major traffic disruption.
During his speech, Nandhkar criticized the newly elected Mumbra corporator and AIMIM leader Sahar Yunus Shaikh for her controversial statement about painting Mumbra green. Despite expressing respect for the country’s women, the BJYM leader condemned her statement and allegedly made a derogatory comment. The AIMIM corporator’s remark had sparked backlash from various groups, leading to her subsequent apology for the statement.
