The 2027 ICC World Test Championship Final will take place at The Oval from June 9 to 13. This will be the second time The Oval hosts the championship decider, following the inaugural final in 2021. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) was awarded hosting rights for the next three World Test Championship Finals during the ICC Annual Conference 2025.
The first three editions of the WTC Final were held at different venues in England. New Zealand won the inaugural title in 2021, while Australia claimed victory in 2023. The upcoming final will mark the conclusion of the fourth cycle of the World Test Championship. ECB Managing Director Neil Snowball expressed pride in hosting the global showpiece for the longest format of the game.
The 2027 final holds historical significance as it coincides with 150 years of Test cricket celebrations. ICC General Manager Gaurav Saxena highlighted the strong relationship between the ICC and the ECB, emphasizing The Oval’s place in cricket history. Australia currently leads the WTC rankings, followed by South Africa and New Zealand in the top spots.
