A case of theft involving cash, jewellery, and electronic devices has been reported at the official residence of former Bihar minister and JJD chief Tej Pratap Yadav in Patna. The alleged theft, which took place on Harding Road in the state capital, includes missing cash amounting to around Rs 20 lakh, along with other valuable items like gold jewelry, electronic gadgets, and mobile phones. Tej Pratap Yadav has filed a complaint with the Secretariat police station, accusing his former associate Motilal Rai in connection with the incident.
Police have launched an investigation into the matter following the complaint. The missing items, with a total value of several lakhs of rupees, were discovered during a subsequent examination of the residence. This incident is not the first theft case linked to Tej Pratap Yadav’s official residence, as a similar incident was reported in 2022 involving the alleged theft of cash and other items.
The latest theft has raised concerns about security arrangements at official residences and the access granted to individuals working or visiting such premises. Police officials from the Secretariat police station have visited the residence, and investigators are currently examining available evidence and assessing various aspects of the case. As the investigation progresses, authorities are expected to verify claims, evaluate evidence, and determine if any criminal action is warranted against those involved.
