Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader Thol. Thirumavalavan MP strongly criticized the BJP and its affiliated groups, emphasizing that they would not be able to establish a presence in Tamil Nadu, regardless of their tactics. Speaking at a significant protest in Madurai against communal politics related to the Tirupparankundram Deepam issue, Thirumavalavan accused the RSS of creating religious tensions to divide voters.
He expressed confidence that while the BJP’s strategies might find success in other states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, they would be rejected in Tamil Nadu, known for its rational and inclusive political traditions. Thirumavalavan highlighted the uniqueness of Tamil Nadu, stating that the BJP’s influence would not be accepted in the state.
Addressing concerns about actor-politician Vijay’s alleged alignment with the RSS, Thirumavalavan criticized the launch of Vijay’s party as a deliberate attempt to weaken Dravidian principles and undermine the legacies of Periyar and Ambedkar. He clarified that his party’s alliance with the DMK was based on shared ideologies rather than electoral gains, emphasizing the importance of principles over positions.
