TRV (Kerala) International Airport Limited, managing Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, accomplished significant milestones in January 2026. The airport saw its highest monthly passenger traffic ever, handling 450,090 passengers, with a daily average surpassing 15,000 passengers. Additionally, it recorded its highest monthly international passenger traffic at 227,275 passengers and served 222,815 domestic passengers during the same period.

These achievements underline TRV Airport’s growing prominence as a key aviation hub in the region. With 2,751 Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) in January, the airport showcased robust airline operations and improved capacity utilization. The milestones reflect the airport’s commitment to enhancing connectivity, operational efficiency, and passenger experience, supported by collaborative efforts from airlines, stakeholders, and operational teams.

TRV Airport, located in Thiruvananthapuram, is strategically positioned to cater to the increasing air traffic demands of southern Kerala and Tamil Nadu. With a current capacity of 4.5 million passengers per annum (MPPA) and 25,000 metric tonnes of cargo annually, the airport is set to expand its capabilities to manage 27 MPPA with a new development master plan. The future enhancements will include modern terminal buildings and advanced cargo facilities, focusing on a seamless passenger experience and efficient cargo handling.
