Around six lakh beneficiaries in South 24 Parganas district who were part of the 100-day job scheme under the previous MGNREGA regime in West Bengal will not be included in the new VB-G RAM G Scheme due to pending e-KYC. The state government has revealed irregularities in the implementation of the previous scheme, suspecting fake job card holders.

The e-KYC process showed that 5,82,998 job card holders in South 24 Parganas have pending e-KYC, raising concerns of illegitimate beneficiaries. The state government plans to compile detailed data on missing beneficiaries soon.

Despite repeated instructions from Block Development Officers, many beneficiaries have not updated their e-KYC, citing reasons like fear of being identified as fake card holders or revealing past forgeries. The districts with the highest number of missing beneficiaries include Kulpi, Patharpratima, Baruipur, and others in South 24 Parganas.
