Three Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the Urva police in Mangaluru during a special verification operation. The arrests were part of a crackdown on suspected illegal immigrants living and working in various areas of the city. The police acted on intelligence inputs regarding the presence of illegal Bangladeshi migrants in the region.
The individuals were discovered during an ongoing operation conducted across all police station limits under the Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate. They were identified while officers were verifying the identities of workers at a building in the KPT-Kuntikana area. The suspects confessed to being Bangladeshi nationals residing in the country unlawfully.
The interrogation of the detainees led the police to another group of suspected illegal migrants who are currently undergoing questioning. Previously, around eight suspected Bangladeshi nationals working as construction laborers in Mukka, Surathkal, were located. They have been moved to a temporary holding facility at Mukka Hospital for further questioning by authorities.
