Another three civilians have reportedly been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in Balochistan, as alleged by human rights organizations. The Baloch National Movement’s Human Rights Department highlighted the case of 20-year-old driver Azizullah, who was taken away during a raid on June 29 in the Paroom area of the Panjgur district. Security forces, accompanied by a state-backed armed group, allegedly transported him to an undisclosed location, with his whereabouts remaining unknown.
In a separate incident on the same day, Umer Jan Baloch was also subjected to enforced disappearance from the Chitkan Bazaar area in Panjgur. Witnesses mentioned that Umer was forcibly taken from his shop by individuals associated with Pakistani security forces. The lack of official information about his whereabouts or legal status has caused significant distress to his family, who are deeply worried about his safety.
Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ) strongly condemned the repeated enforced disappearance of civilian Ahmed Mengal from Khuzdar district in Balochistan. Mengal was reportedly detained by personnel of Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies from his shop in the Jakharabad area of Khuzdar on May 26 and moved to an undisclosed location. This marks the third time Mengal has been taken into custody and forcibly disappeared, according to the rights body.
Balochistan continues to face severe human rights violations by Pakistani forces, including enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings of Baloch civilians at an alarming rate.
