Another three civilians, including women, were reportedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in Balochistan, as per a human rights organization. The Baloch National Movement’s Human Rights Department condemned the enforced disappearance of Sameena from her home in Khuzdar district on April 22. Pakistan’s Frontier Corps and Military Intelligence personnel allegedly took her into custody after subjecting her family to violence.
In a separate incident, 20-year-old mechanic Akhter Hussain from Panjgur district was also allegedly taken by Frontier Corps personnel on April 19. The targeting of civilians, including women, continues, with 22-year-old Gull Banuk reportedly taken from her home in Kech district on April 14. Her whereabouts remain unknown, posing a significant risk.
The Baloch Voice for Justice criticized the enforced disappearance of Gull Banuk, denouncing it as a violation of human rights. Meanwhile, Daad Shah, a Balochi writer, was reportedly forcibly disappeared for the second time on April 21. Front Line Defenders condemned this act as an attempt to suppress the human rights work of his sister, Fozia, a member of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee.
Front Line Defenders urged Pakistani authorities to cease reprisals against Baloch human rights activists and their families. They emphasized the need for all human rights defenders in Pakistan to be able to carry out their work safely and with dignity.
