Three young sisters tragically lost their lives in a road accident in the Khajurwar forest area near Amarkantak, a renowned pilgrimage site in Madhya Pradesh. The victims, identified as Kavya Mahobe (6 years old), Anamika Mahobe (3 years old), and Anshika Mahobe (3 months old), were traveling with their mother on a tractor loaded with cement bags and iron rods. The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid an animal on the path, causing it to overturn and injure the passengers.

The three girls succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital, while their mother, Rukmani Bai Mahobe, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. Local residents and authorities responded to the incident, with police initiating an investigation led by officers Lal Bahadur Tiwari and Assistant Sub-Inspector PR Dhananjay. The bodies underwent post-mortem examination before being handed over to the family for final rites.

Amarkantak, located in the Vindhya mountain range and known as the origin of the Narmada River, witnesses a high influx of pilgrims and locals daily. The incident highlights the risks associated with using remote dirt roads in forest areas for transportation, emphasizing the dangers posed by uneven terrain, wildlife crossings, and vehicle overloading.
