A devastating road accident took place on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Kota’s Balapura area, claiming the lives of three young individuals who were traveling in a car. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the collision, causing chaos and panic at the scene. The victims, identified as Siddhant (21), Kunal (25), and Mayureva (23), were residents of Pune and were on their way from Ladakh to Mumbai in an SUV.
The fatal crash occurred when the car lost control near Thumda, about five kilometers from Balapura, due to excessive speed. The driver was unable to steer the vehicle, leading it to crash through the divider and fall nearly 30 feet. The impact of the accident was severe, prompting bystanders to call for help and alert the authorities.
Despite efforts to rescue the victims with the help of locals, all three individuals had already succumbed to their injuries by the time they were extracted from the wreckage. The police arrived at the scene promptly, retrieved the bodies, and arranged for post-mortem examinations. Initial investigations point to overspeeding and loss of control as the main factors behind the tragic incident.
Manoj Sikarwar, the SHO of Kaithoon Police Station, disclosed that the deceased youths were returning to Pune in a Fortuner SUV after a trip to Leh-Ladakh with a group of ten individuals. Following the accident, the injured were rushed to the Kaithoon Community Health Centre, where they were pronounced dead upon arrival. The bodies have been taken for post-mortem analysis.
