Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has filed a police complaint against social media influencer Divvala Madhuri and actress Thanuja Puttaswamy for celebrating Madhuri’s birthday at Tirumala, breaching temple rules. The TTD, overseeing the renowned hill shrine, reported that its vigilance wing has taken legal action against the two women. An official from TTD mentioned that the police are currently investigating the matter.
Madhuri and Thanuja marked the latter’s birthday at a guesthouse in Tirumala by cutting a cake, which they shared on social media. The temple authorities emphasized that such festivities are not allowed in Tirumala. The duo not only brought the birthday cake to Tirumala but also arranged the celebration, sharing the event on their social media platforms. YSR Congress Party MLC Duvvada Srinivas, Madhuri’s live-in partner, and Thanuja were present in Tirumala for darshan on that day.
This incident is not the first time Madhuri has been embroiled in controversy at the Tirumala temple. Back in 2024, she faced backlash for disrespecting devotees’ sentiments during a visit to Tirumala with Srinivas. The couple offered prayers and later recorded videos, violating TTD regulations. Madhuri, a dancer, publicly mentioned that they plan to marry once Srinivas is officially divorced from his first wife. Following objections from devotees, the TTD Vigilance and Security Department filed a complaint against her at the Tirumala I Town Police Station for causing a disturbance by sharing personal matters and the live-in relationship on social media.
