The combined market value of six of India’s top 10 companies surged by Rs 74,111.57 crore last week. This growth was primarily driven by increases in ICICI Bank, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Bajaj Finance, and Larsen & Toubro, reflecting a positive trend in the stock market. The BSE benchmark index also saw a rise of 177.36 points, or 0.23 percent during the week.
Among the top 10 companies, ICICI Bank, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, and LIC experienced significant gains in their market valuation. Conversely, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India (SBI), and Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) witnessed declines in their market capitalization. TCS saw its market capitalization soar by Rs 19,338.68 crore to Rs 8,38,401.33 crore, while ICICI Bank’s valuation increased by Rs 14,515.93 crore, reaching Rs 9,06,901.32 crore.
LIC’s market valuation climbed by Rs 9,076.37 crore to Rs 5,14,443.69 crore during the week. Bajaj Finance also experienced growth, with an increase of Rs 3,797.83 crore in its market capitalization, reaching Rs 5,70,515.57 crore. Larsen & Toubro added Rs 2,685.87 crore, bringing its valuation to Rs 5,40,228.21 crore.
On the other hand, Bharti Airtel witnessed the most significant decline as its market valuation dropped by Rs 20,229.67 crore to Rs 11,40,295.49 crore. Hindustan Unilever’s valuation decreased by Rs 16,212.18 crore to Rs 5,17,380 crore, and State Bank of India’s market capitalization fell by Rs 12,784.4 crore to Rs 8,76,077.92 crore. HDFC Bank also experienced a dip of Rs 2,094.35 crore in its valuation, which stood at Rs 11,79,974.90 crore.
In the ranking of the most valued companies, HDFC Bank retained its position at the top, followed by Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, SBI, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, Hindustan Unilever, and LIC.
