The top three Democrats in the US House of Representatives have endorsed Indian-American Congressman Shri Thanedar for re-election from Michigan. House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark, and House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar announced their joint endorsement of Thanedar in Michigan’s 13th Congressional District.
This endorsement gives Thanedar the support of the House Democratic leadership as he vies for another term representing Detroit and nearby communities. The Democratic leaders praised Thanedar for his efforts to reduce household costs and his opposition to President Donald Trump and Republican policies.
Thanedar expressed gratitude for the endorsement and emphasized the importance of the November election for Democrats to regain control of the House. He highlighted his commitment to addressing the cost of housing, food, healthcare, and other essential needs. Thanedar also aligned his re-election campaign with the broader Democratic goal of securing a House majority and promoting Jeffries to the speakership.
