A tragic incident unfolded in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district as a moving SUV suddenly caught fire, turning into a blazing fireball and claiming the lives of four family members, including a local Congress leader and former Sarpanch. The devastating event occurred in the Borada police station area, about 60 kilometers from Ajmer city, around 5:30 a.m. Authorities, including police and forensic teams, are investigating the incident from all possible angles, including the potential of foul play.
Deputy Superintendent Ayush Vashishth, Borada SHO Suryabhan Singh, and Arai SHO Roshan Samaria were actively involved in the rescue and inquiry operations. An FSL team has gathered samples and evidence from the site, while the police are exploring various scenarios, such as a short circuit, and have not ruled out the possibility of foul play until the exact cause of the fire is determined.
The vehicle caught fire while in motion, quickly becoming engulfed in flames. Despite prompt response from local authorities and the arrival of a fire tender, the vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire, and all occupants, identified as former Sarpanch Ramsingh Chaudhary, his mother Pusi Devi, his wife, and his niece Mahima, tragically lost their lives due to severe burn injuries.
Tragically, three victims died at the scene, while the fourth succumbed to injuries while being transported to the hospital. Initial reports suggest that Pusi Devi had complained of chest pain early that morning, with Ramsingh Chaudhary driving her to seek medical help when the fire erupted. The family members had no chance to escape as the SUV was quickly engulfed in flames, prompting the deployment of water tankers and firefighting teams to control the blaze.
Senior police officials, including Ajmer Superintendent of Police Harshavardhan Agarwala, have arrived at the scene to oversee the investigation.
