Tragic Collision on National Highway Claims Six Lives, Injures Nine

In a tragic incident on National Highway 50 at the border of Koppal and Vijayapura districts, a truck collided with a tractor, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, including a one-year-old child. The collision caused the tractor to fall off a bridge, leading to the fatalities and injuries.

The deceased, identified as relatives from Ballari and Vijayanagar districts, were en route to the Huligemma Temple in Hulagi village of Koppal district. The injured have been hospitalized at the Koppal District Hospital, with two individuals in critical condition.

Congress Member of Parliament E. Tukaram has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the families of the deceased. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party state president B. Y. Vijayendra expressed deep shock over the incident and called for immediate compensation for the victims’ families and proper treatment for the injured.
