The death of 23-year-old Twisha Sharma has sparked new developments as her father, Navnidhi Sharma, has urgently reached out to Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai C Patel. Navnidhi Sharma highlighted the influential position of Twisha’s mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, a former senior judicial officer now serving in a key quasi-judicial role.
In his plea to the governor, Navnidhi Sharma requested an immediate review and temporary suspension of Giribala Singh from her official duties during the ongoing criminal probe. The family’s concern is not to malign the judiciary but to prevent any potential undue influence on law enforcement, witnesses, and forensic processes.
Citing constitutional rights, the family stressed the need for an impartial investigation to uphold public trust in the legal system and seek justice for Twisha. Twisha was discovered hanging at Giribala Singh’s residence in Bhopal, leading to a police investigation naming Twisha’s husband and mother-in-law as primary suspects.
The case involves allegations of dowry harassment, mental cruelty, and physical abuse against Twisha since her marriage in December 2025. The post-mortem report indicated death by hanging but also noted additional injuries on her body, intensifying the gravity of the situation.
