A tragic incident occurred in Bihar just before Holi, where six children drowned in the Raghava river in East Champaran district. The children, who had gone to the river after a lunar eclipse, were swept away while bathing. Despite efforts to rescue them, all six children tragically drowned.

Local authorities and police were alerted, and with the help of villagers and divers, the bodies were recovered. The deceased children have been identified as Diksha Kumari (12), Sonakshi (9), Priya Kumari (6), Prince Kumar (11), Chhoti Kumari (8), and Sonali Kumari (12).

The District Magistrate of East Champaran expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and an investigation is ongoing to understand the circumstances of the incident.

Officials have urged the public not to allow children to bathe unsupervised in rivers or ponds, particularly during festive times, to prevent such heartbreaking incidents in the future. The entire community is in mourning over the loss of these young lives.
