A tragic road accident near Madurai in Tamil Nadu has resulted in the deaths of five family members, including three women. The incident occurred when their car crashed into a roadside barrier on a four-lane highway near Ayyapatti, close to Melur, on a late Sunday evening. The victims, who had visited the Samayapuram Mariamman Temple in Tiruchirappalli for worship, were returning home to Madurai when the accident took place.
The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the death of all five occupants on the spot. Among the deceased were Prakash from Anna Nagar in Madurai and four of his relatives, including another male member named Ramesh. The tragic event has left the region in shock and mourning, with residents and relatives deeply affected by the sudden loss of an entire family.
Authorities are in the process of identifying all the victims and notifying their extended family members. The bodies of the deceased were recovered from the damaged vehicle and taken to Melur Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.
