A tragic road accident near Dr P.N. Singh Degree College on the outskirts of Chhapra in Bihar resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including two female orchestra performers, with six others sustaining serious injuries. Eyewitnesses described the impact as severe, leaving chaos in the area with bodies found in a grievously mutilated state. Local residents were deeply distressed by the scene.
Police teams from Bhagwan Bazar police station and the Dial 112 emergency response unit promptly arrived at the scene upon receiving information, initiating immediate rescue efforts. The injured were quickly taken to Sadar Hospital in Chhapra, where four of them are currently in critical condition.
Preliminary reports suggest that the victims were members of an orchestra troupe from Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district, returning after a performance at a wedding in Chhota Brahmapur. Their pickup vehicle reportedly lost control and overturned by the roadside around 5:30 a.m. Subsequently, a speeding truck collided with the overturned vehicle, exacerbating the impact and resulting in multiple fatalities.
Authorities confirmed that all the deceased and injured individuals are from Ballia district, with their families duly notified. Saran Superintendent of Police Vineet Kumar visited Sadar Hospital to assess the situation and instructed medical staff to provide the best possible care to the injured. Post-mortem examinations have been scheduled for the bodies, while a comprehensive investigation into the incident is currently in progress.
In a separate incident on Monday, a tragic road accident in Rohtas, Bihar, claimed the lives of five individuals who were returning from a Tilak ceremony. The incident occurred early Monday morning in the Dinara police station area of Rohtas district, near Mathiya village on National Highway 319. An official reported that a speeding and out-of-control truck collided with a group of people around 3:00 a.m., causing chaos at the scene.
