A transformer fire occurred in Adarsh Nagar Colony of Khoda in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, near the Delhi border early on Tuesday. The fire spread to nearby electric cables, visible from a distance of about two kilometers. Firefighters swiftly responded with around half a dozen fire tenders, supported by additional units from nearby fire stations, successfully bringing the blaze under control.
Fire Officer Rahul Pal reported that the fire originated in a transformer in Shiv Mandir Wali Gali, Adarsh Nagar, Khoda Gaon. Immediate action was taken with the dispatch of two fire tenders to the scene. Concerns arose as diesel drums nearby caught fire, potentially endangering nearby residences. To address the situation, two extra fire tenders and a specialized Fire Quick Response Vehicle (FQRV) for narrow lanes were deployed.
In a separate incident on Monday, a significant fire broke out on the 22nd floor of Aranya Society in Sector 119, Noida, due to a blast in an air conditioner unit. Six fire tenders were mobilized to the location, with the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) of Gautam Buddha Nagar and local police overseeing the firefighting efforts. The fire, reported from a flat in Aranya Society, was swiftly contained with no reported casualties.
Following the incidents, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath promptly responded, directing officials to the sites to oversee relief and rescue operations, ensure medical care for those affected, maintain administrative vigilance, and continuously monitor the relief efforts.
