India’s first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, was honored on his 63rd death anniversary in Patna. Leaders, public figures, and officials gathered at Bans Ghat to pay floral tributes at his samadhi on the banks of the Ganga River.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also paid his respects at the samadhi site, emphasizing Dr. Rajendra Prasad’s significance. During the ceremony, he oversaw the arrangements and provided instructions to officials present.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary joined the event to pay homage to Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Choudhary highlighted the late President’s virtues of simplicity, humility, and dedication to the nation, inspiring all citizens.
Senior administrative officials, including Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar and Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, participated in the ceremony. The gathering of citizens to honor the former President showcased widespread respect for his legacy.
Following the tribute ceremony, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the electric crematorium at Bans Ghat, ensuring the facilities were in order. He also reviewed the Mandiri Nala and the newly constructed crematorium within the Bans Ghat complex, providing directives for maintenance and enhancement.
The state ceremony in Bihar reaffirmed the tribute to Dr. Rajendra Prasad’s legacy, acknowledging his role as a freedom fighter, statesman, and the first President of independent India.
