Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy expressed disappointment with the initial trends in the West Bengal Assembly elections but emphasized that it’s premature to make definitive conclusions since the final results are pending. The BJP secured six seats and was leading in 192, while Trinamool Congress was ahead in 88 seats. Reyat Hossain Sarkar from Trinamool won in the Bhagawangola Assembly seat as per ECI trends by 4:30 p.m.
Roy acknowledged the setback, stating that further analysis is needed. He mentioned various speculations circulating, such as EVM errors or battery issues, but stressed that it’s the counting agents’ role to address these concerns. With the final results yet to be declared, Roy refrained from making conclusive remarks.
Trinamool MP Rachana Banerjee expressed optimism despite the ongoing counting process and questioned the delay. Banerjee highlighted the importance of staying positive and focusing on the ongoing process, urging everyone to remain hopeful until the end results are announced.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in a video message during the vote counting, assured that Trinamool Congress would emerge victorious. She criticized the slow progress of counting and alleged interference by Central forces against Trinamool workers. Banerjee urged party members and counting agents to stay vigilant until the end of the counting process.
