The Trinamool Congress has filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India against BJP leaders Smriti Irani, Suvendu Adhikari, and others for allegedly breaching the Model Code of Conduct. The complaint alleges that the BJP leaders announced a scheme called ‘Matrishakti Bhorsa Card’, promising to provide Rs 3,000 monthly to cardholders, which the Trinamool Congress views as an attempt to influence voters.

The Trinamool Congress stated that the distribution of forms for the scheme by BJP members constitutes a serious violation of election rules. The party believes that these actions are not charitable but a strategic move to sway voters in favor of a particular political party, compromising the fairness of the electoral process.

The Trinamool Congress has urged the Election Commission to take immediate action against the accused BJP leaders for violating the Model Code of Conduct and committing offenses under relevant laws. The party has requested the issuance of show cause notices to the concerned BJP leaders and strict penalties for the alleged violations.
