Trinamool Congress has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) accusing Central forces of assaulting and intimidating villagers in Nandigram, West Bengal. The party claims that the CRPF, allegedly working in favor of the BJP, is using excessive force for political purposes. Several incidents of violence were reported in Nandigram, with villagers alleging that Central forces personnel had unjustly beaten them, leading to injuries and protests.
In a letter to the Election Commission, Trinamool detailed accusations against the CRPF, including intimidation, excessive force, and physical assault on Nandigram residents. The party presented a photograph as evidence of the alleged misconduct, emphasizing that such actions are not only unethical but also illegal. Trinamool criticized the Union Home Ministry, alleging that the BJP is exploiting the CRPF for its own agenda.
Trinamool urged the Election Commission to take action by issuing a show-cause notice to the CRPF, suspending the accused personnel, and preventing similar incidents from occurring in the future.
