As the year comes to an end, Trinamool Congress members are actively involved in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of West Bengal’s voters’ list. Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee is expected to host a political event by the year-end. Sources at the State Secretariat reveal that if all goes as planned, Chief Minister Banerjee will conduct a public gathering on December 30 at Barjora College grounds in Bankura district. This event is anticipated to be her final political rally in West Bengal for the year. However, it remains uncertain whether Mamata Banerjee will engage in any administrative meetings during her visit to Bankura district. There is a sense of anticipation within the Trinamool Congress in Bankura district regarding the message that the Chief Minister will convey at this event. Preparations for Banerjee’s visit have already commenced, as per district Trinamool Congress sources. The Trinamool leadership in Bankura district is slated to convene a meeting on this issue later on Monday evening. The party aims for a substantial turnout at the rally. Notably, the Barjora area is part of the Bishnupur Lok Sabha constituency. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Trinamool Congress narrowly lost this Lok Sabha seat by 5,000 votes, with BJP’s Saumitra Khan emerging victorious. Consequently, the West Bengal BJP leadership is striving to bolster the party’s organization to secure all Assembly seats within that Lok Sabha constituency before the upcoming state Assembly elections. It’s worth mentioning that January 1 marks the foundation day of the Trinamool Congress. A senior Trinamool Congress official highlighted that this year, the party’s foundation day celebrations hold increased political significance due to the forthcoming Assembly polls next year. The Trinamool leader suggested that Chief Minister Banerjee might delineate the election strategy for the upcoming electoral battle during the Barjora meeting.
